About Big Sky Little Britches

We are a Montana franchise of the National Little Britches Rodeo Association.  We have contestants competing from all over Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Colorado, and even Canada.

These are qualifier rodeos for the National Little Britches Finals Rodeo.  Contestants must place in the top 7 in an event at least 4 rodeos to quality to compete in that event at the national finals.

National Little Britches Rodeo Association

The NLBRA, which was founded in 1952, is a youth rodeo organization for kids’ ages 5 to18. The NLBRA’s principal goal is to develop within its members and their families a spirit of fair competition and appreciation of good sportsmanship throughout the experience of healthy rodeo competition.

FRANCHISES: The Association annually sanctions nearly 400 youth rodeos in 15 states, which all operate in accordance with the NLBRA Rulebook. During the 2013-2014-rodeo season, the NLBRA sanctioned 373 Rodeos, which provided more opportunities for NLBRA members to earn points and qualify for the National Finals Rodeo. More than 2,000 kids from 27 states compete in NLBRA rodeos each year. Contestants compete for prizes such as saddles, buckles, scholarships, and cash at local rodeos as well as the National Finals events. By competing at local events, contestants work to qualify for the annual National Finals Rodeo.

NATIONAL FINALS RODEO: The 2017 National Little Britches Finals Rodeo (NLBFR) is scheduled for July 3-9 at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, OK. In 2016, the NLBRA hosted more than 1100 contestants, who competed for the more than $380,000 in awards and college scholarships that were available during the weeklong competition, making it one of the richest and largest youth rodeos in the world. The Lazy E Arena, who will host the National Finals Rodeo 2016-2020, is the largest indoor rodeo arena in the world, with seating for 7,200 spectators.
